Terms of Service

Welcome to Monolog. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Monolog.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you may use Monolog with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Users under 18 will have adult content features restricted.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. Monolog cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account, including a valid date of birth. You may not use a username that impersonates another person, is offensive, or violates any third-party rights.

Your username must be unique. Reserved usernames (such as "admin", "support", "monolog") cannot be claimed. Monolog reserves the right to reclaim or reassign usernames at any time.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Monolog for any unlawful purpose
• Post reviews or content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or obscene
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
• Use automated tools to scrape data or create accounts
• Circumvent age restrictions or content filters
• Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights

4. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you create (reviews, ratings, lists). By posting content on Monolog, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store that content within the Monolog platform.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. Monolog may remove content that violates these Terms without notice.

Reviews include an edit history for transparency. When you edit a review, previous versions are preserved.

5. Media Data

Monolog displays media information (movies, TV shows, anime, books, games, comics) sourced from third-party databases including TMDB, Open Library, RAWG, and Comic Vine. This data is provided for informational purposes. Monolog does not claim ownership of this data and is not responsible for its accuracy.

Monolog does not host, stream, or provide access to any copyrighted media content. The app is a tracking and discovery tool only.

6. Social Features

Monolog includes social features such as following other users, viewing activity feeds, and sharing profiles and lists. You can control your profile visibility (public or private) in settings.

Public profiles and reviews may be visible to other Monolog users. Setting your profile to private limits visibility of your tracked media and activity.

7. Adult Content

Some media in Monolog's databases may include adult or mature content. Users under 18 cannot enable adult content. Users 18 and older may enable adult content in settings, which is disabled by default.

You are responsible for the content you choose to view. Monolog relies on ratings provided by third-party databases and does not independently verify content ratings.

8. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion from settings at any time. Upon requesting deletion:

• Your account will be scheduled for deletion after a 30-day grace period
• During this period, you may cancel the deletion by signing back in
• After 30 days, all your data will be permanently deleted
• This includes your profile, tracked media, reviews, lists, activity, and social connections
• Your username will be released and may be claimed by others

9. Data Import and Export

Monolog allows you to import tracking data from other services and export your data in CSV format. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import any data you bring into Monolog.

10. Availability and Modifications

Monolog is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Monolog at any time. We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Monolog and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
